Amara meaning eternally beautiful is a vintage Boujaad rug hand woven in the middle of the Atlas mountains.
These rugs are handcrafted by the Berber women of Morocco and can take a few months to a year to complete. Each tribe has a particular style craft and the rugs are given the namesake of these tribes ie Boujaad.
Boujaad rugs often have patterns of small geometric shapes and stars. These soft yet striking pieces are produced with soft wool using mostly natural food with dyes, henna and indigo. Colours are often - pinks, red, purples and oranges. Each rug is individually handcrafted and maybe slightly asymmetrical in their shape and pattern with some minor imperfections.
These vintage rugs are between 20-60 years old and have been lovingly repaired, wear and tear is seen appropriate to the age of the rug.
Colours: Soft peach cream colour background with patterns of cream, pink, green and purple.
